Strong social bonds lead to happiness in Malaysia, study finds.
The article examines how different types of social connections affect happiness and life satisfaction in Malaysia. The researchers used data from a survey with 1300 participants and found that being involved in groups can make people happier. Trusting people from different backgrounds can decrease happiness, but trusting those from the same religion or ethnicity can increase it. Only connecting with people outside one's immediate circle is linked to higher life satisfaction. Believing in God also seems to boost happiness and life satisfaction. Other factors like health, income, marital status, and education also play a role in how happy and satisfied Malaysians feel.
