Boosting Sweet Sorghum Yields Could Improve Food Security for Millions
The researchers studied how different levels of nutrients, planting dates, and methods affect the growth and yield of sweet sorghum. They found that planting early in July on raised beds resulted in the best growth and highest yields. Using higher levels of nutrients led to taller plants, more leaves per plant, and increased biomass. Overall, increasing fertility levels led to higher sweet sorghum yields, with the highest yields seen with the highest level of nutrients.
