New herbicide combo boosts wheat yield and farmer profits in Chhattisgarh.
A study was done to test different herbicides on wheat crops to control weeds. They tried twelve treatments, including herbicides like pendimethalin and sulfosulfuron, and also hand weeding. The combination of pendimethalin followed by sulfosulfuron was the most effective, reducing weed density and increasing wheat yield. This combination also led to taller plants, more spikes per square meter, more grains per spike, higher test weight, and ultimately higher grain yield and profits compared to other herbicides tested.
