New planting techniques and herbicides boost wheat yield significantly.
The study looked at how different planting methods and weed management techniques affect the yield of late-sown wheat. They tested three planting techniques and five weed management practices in a field experiment. The tallest wheat plants were seen in Cross sowing followed by Line sowing. Using Two hand weeding (25 and 45 days after sowing) and Clodinofop followed by 2,4-D significantly improved the yield and yield components of wheat. The results suggest that the way wheat is planted and managed for weeds can have a big impact on how well it grows and produces grain.
