A study was done to find out which crops grow well alongside rice in aerobic conditions. They tested different row patterns and intercrop combinations in a field experiment. Paired rows gave higher grain yield than normal rows. Rice with bhendi and cluster bean intercropping systems had the highest grain yield. Rice with ragi intercropping had the lowest yield.
