Bargaining Power Dynamics Reshape Labor Market Outcomes for Workers
This study explores how individual bargaining costs and outside options affect bargaining power in labor markets using a modified sequential bargaining model. The researchers found that different types of bargaining costs influence bargaining power weights. Moreover, the Nash bargaining solution accurately describes market outcomes where outside options are determined within the system. In these cases, agents' bargaining strengths rely on their chances of negotiation success.
