Intercropping pigeonpea and soybean boosts crop yield and sustainability.
A study was conducted to see how growing pigeonpea and soybean together in different ratios affects their growth and yield. The researchers found that the best results were seen when pigeonpea and soybean were planted in a 1:6 ratio, with more pods and higher seed yield per plant. This combination also had better growth compared to other ratios and planting them alone. Additionally, giving the plants two irrigations at bud initiation and pod development led to the highest yield. Overall, the pigeonpea and soybean combination in a 1:6 ratio with two irrigations produced the best results in terms of yield.
