Researchers studied different types of Dolichos beans to understand which factors directly impact the yield of pods. They planted nine sowing dates of ten genotypes in Maharashtra. They found that the number of pods per vine has the biggest positive effect on pod yield, followed by the weight of 10 pods, pod setting percentage, inflorescence length, and vine length. On the other hand, factors like pod length, number of pods per inflorescence, grains per pod, pod width, and flowering and picking times had negative effects on pod yield.
