Intercropping soybean boosts pigeon pea yield and profits in South Gujarat.
A study was done in South Gujarat to see how different ways of planting pigeon peas affected their yield. They tried different row spacings and planting pigeon peas with other crops like greengram and soybean. After three years, they found that planting pigeon peas with soybean in a 1:2 ratio gave the highest yield. This method also gave the most profit compared to other planting methods. So, planting pigeon peas with soybean in a 1:2 ratio could be a good way to grow more pigeon peas and make more money in South Gujarat.
