Sorghum and blackgram intercropping boosts yields and plant growth significantly.
In a study on sorghum farming, researchers tested different combinations of sorghum with legumes like blackgram. They found that sorghum + blackgram (4:2) resulted in taller plants, increased leaf area, thicker stems, longer and wider earheads, higher earhead weight, sorghum yield, and dry fodder yield compared to other combinations. This suggests that sorghum intercropped with blackgram in a 4:2 ratio performs better than other sorghum-legume combinations.
