Revolutionizing cotton farming: Higher yields and profits with innovative intercropping.
A study conducted on cotton genotypes in a strip intercropping system with soybean and mustard found that planting G. arboreum cotton (AKA-7) with soybean in a 6:6 row proportion followed by mustard during the rabi season resulted in higher cotton equivalent yield, net monetary return, benefit-cost ratio, water use efficiency, crop productivity, and profitability compared to other treatments. This approach showed better overall performance in terms of crop and system productivity, as well as profitability per hectare.
