Revolutionizing soybean cultivation: Boosting productivity and quality with innovative fertilization.
A study in Egypt looked at how different fertilization methods affected the growth and quality of three types of soybeans. They tested using soil fertilizers, foliar applications, or a combination of both. The results showed that Giza 111 soybeans had the best growth and quality, followed by Giza 21, with Giza 22 performing the worst. The treatment with 50% of the recommended soil fertilizers plus foliar applications gave the highest seed yield. The number of branches and pods per plant, seed weight, and oil yield were all positively correlated with seed yield. Overall, the study found that the right combination of soil fertilizers and foliar applications can significantly improve soybean productivity and quality under calcareous soil conditions.
