New rice genotypes boost yields and nutrient uptake in Chhattisgarh Vertisol.
The study looked at how different types of rice and levels of soil fertility affect rice yield and nutrient uptake in Chhattisgarh. They found that the rice genotype MTU-1010 with higher fertility levels produced more grain and straw, and took up more NPK nutrients compared to other genotypes and lower fertility levels. Soil nutrients were not affected by rice types or fertility levels, but higher fertilizer application increased major nutrients while decreasing micronutrients in the soil.
