Optimal sowing dates and nitrogen levels boost barley yield significantly.
A study on barley growth and yield was conducted in 2017, testing different sowing dates and nitrogen levels. The results showed that planting barley on November 10th with 75 kg of nitrogen per hectare led to the highest plant growth and yield. Barley planted on October 20th with the same nitrogen level had longer spikes, while planting on November 10th with 45 kg of nitrogen per hectare resulted in higher test weight. Overall, the best combination for barley growth and yield was planting on November 10th with 75 kg of nitrogen per hectare.
