The goal of the study was to figure out how much it costs to grow soybeans in certain areas of Chhattisgarh, India, and whether it's profitable for farmers. The researchers surveyed 300 farmers in three districts to collect data. They found that the average yield of soybeans was good compared to the state average. The cost of growing soybeans per hectare was around Rs. 25579.22, with a gross return of Rs. 36230.96 and a net return of Rs. 10651.74. The overall benefit-cost ratio was 1.42, indicating profitability. The study also calculated the income over different costs, showing that farmers made money over various expense scenarios.
