Boron boosts sunflower growth and yield in acid soils, revolutionizing agriculture.
The study looked at how adding boron to acid soil affects the growth and yield of sunflowers. They tested different amounts of boron on five types of soil. The results showed that adding boron increased sunflower growth and yield in most soil types, except for two where too much boron actually decreased growth. The best results were seen in Soil type 1 with 2 kg/ha of boron, which led to larger sunflower heads, more seeds, higher oil content, and better overall harvest. Soil type 3 with 2 kg/ha of boron had the highest boron concentration in the seeds. Overall, adding boron to the soil can improve sunflower growth and yield, but the right amount is crucial for optimal results.
