Historical rivers in Ukraine and Russia face pollution and urbanization threat.
The study looked at the condition of small historical rivers Lybed and Pochayna in Ukraine and Russia. These rivers used to be important for cities but are now affected by urban development. The rivers are very small and have low water levels, with much of their channels blocked by reservoirs. The water in these rivers is at risk of pollution. Some of the rivers have lost their natural beauty due to human activities. However, there is hope for the river Lybed in Kiev to be improved.
