Optimizing Nitrogen Levels Boosts Maize Growth and Yield Significantly
A study looked at how different amounts and timings of nitrogen fertilizer affected the growth and yield of maize plants. The results showed that maize plants grew taller and produced more grain when they received higher levels of nitrogen fertilizer. Specifically, plants that got 180 kg of nitrogen per hectare had the tallest height, most leaves, and highest grain yield. Splitting the nitrogen application into four equal parts also led to better growth and yield compared to other schedules.
