Toxic Heavy Metals Found in Wetland Plants Raise Environmental Concerns.
The study measured the levels of heavy metals (Zn, Cu, Cd) in the plants and sediment of the Anzali wetland. The researchers found that the average concentrations of zinc, copper, and cadmium in the plants Phragmites Australis and Typha Angustifolia were within specific ranges. Additionally, the levels of these metals in the sediment of the wetland were also determined. The results showed an increase in the concentration of zinc compared to other heavy metals in the tissues and roots of the plants.
