Study reveals critical data for sustainable management of Upper Indus Basin.
The study aimed to understand water quality in the Upper Indus River Basin of Pakistan. Researchers used a hydrological model called SWAT to analyze runoff, sediment yield, and nutrient loss. They calibrated the model using river discharge data and found that the model performed well. The study used GIS mapping tools and climate data to obtain results. Results showed that the model accurately simulated flows in the selected catchments from 1982 to 2010.
