New Study Shows Early Transplanting Boosts Flowering Time in Periwinkle Plants
The researchers studied how different factors affect the growth and flowering of Madagascar Periwinkle plants. They looked at the timing of transplanting, spraying the plants with yeast, and pinching the plants. They found that transplanting the seedlings earlier led to taller plants and earlier flowering. Spraying the plants with a concentration of 2 gm.lt-1 of yeast resulted in larger leaf area. Pinching the plants delayed flowering slightly. Overall, the timing of transplanting and spraying with yeast had significant effects on plant growth and flowering.
