Revolutionary Fertilization Method Boosts Apple Yield by 68.5% in Loess Plateau
Water storage pit irrigation (WSPI) helps fruit trees in Loess Plateau, but fertilization methods are lacking. A two-year experiment studied fertilization in apple orchards. Split fertilization increases soil nitrogen by 4.7 times without increasing leaching risk. N300 with split fertilization boosts apple yield by up to 68.5%. Roots absorb current year's nitrogen, while fruits absorb previous year's, with no difference in leaves.
