Polluted Kondeshwar Lake Shows Alarming Zooplankton Diversity, Threatening Aquatic Ecosystem.
The study looked at the different types of tiny animals living in Kondeshwar Lake near Amravati. These animals, called zooplankton, are important for the lake's health and food chain. The researchers found five groups of zooplankton in the lake: protozoa, rotifera, cladocera, copepoda, and ostracoda. They discovered that the lake is polluted, likely due to human activities, because there were a lot of rotifers present. This shows that the lake's environment is not in good shape.
