Precision Irrigation Boosts Cotton Yields, Conserves Water for Drought-Stricken Farmers
Remote sensing methods like SEBAL and METRIC models were used to calculate Evapotranspiration (ET) for cotton irrigation scheduling. The models showed higher ET values in the early growth stage due to soil evaporation, and lower values later on as plant transpiration increased. This means that using remote sensing techniques can improve the accuracy of irrigation scheduling for cotton crops, helping farmers make better decisions during the growing season.
