Emotional intelligence in adolescence predicts happiness, optimism, and pessimism levels.
Emotional intelligence in teenagers can predict how happy and optimistic they are. A study with 493 high-school students found that emotional intelligence, especially emotional regulation, is linked to happiness and optimism. On the other hand, paying too much attention to emotions can lead to more pessimism. This shows that understanding and managing emotions can affect how teenagers feel about themselves and their future.
