The study focused on assessing flood risk in Qiqihar city using a model based on MIKE Flood software. By analyzing potential levee breaches and flood diversion strategies, the researchers found that proactive downstream flood diversion could lower water levels and peak flood flow, reducing the risk of flooding in the city. The model simulated different scenarios to provide valuable information for urban flood risk analysis and management in the area.
