New cotton hybrids show promise for higher yields and quality fibers!
The researchers studied how different combinations of cotton plants can produce higher yields and better quality fibers. They crossed 8 lines of cotton with 5 testers to create 40 hybrids and compared them to a standard hybrid. They found that hybrids like LH 2220 × GTHV 13/32 and L 1384 x HYPS 5152 showed promising results in terms of seed cotton yield and fiber quality traits. These hybrids could potentially be used commercially after further testing in different locations.
