Scientific realism can exist without believing in a structured external world. The paper argues that scientific realism doesn't require metaphysical realism. Instead, it can be combined with a weaker view called quietism, which is unsure about the existence of mind-independent structures. This means that scientific realists can still debate with antirealists without making strong metaphysical claims.
