Wealthy getting richer: Loans driving wealth gap in South Korea
This paper looks at income and wealth inequality in South Korea. It found that factors like wealth, employment, family size, and education contribute to income inequality. On the other hand, income and loans play a big role in wealth inequality. The study shows that higher income groups use more loans, which widens the wealth gap between the rich and the poor in South Korea. Wealth inequality is influenced by leverage in the financial market, which is different from income inequality.
