A study on rainfed upland rice aimed to understand the genetic factors affecting grain yield. Researchers analyzed 32 rice genotypes and found significant differences in traits like grain yield, number of grains per panicle, and plant height. Traits like harvest index, biological yield, and panicle length showed strong positive correlations with grain yield. Path analysis revealed that traits such as harvest index, biological yield, and panicle length directly influenced grain yield. These findings suggest that focusing on improving these specific traits could help increase rice yield in upland areas.
