Egypt's Future Urban Growth: Small and Medium Communities Key to Sustainable Development.
Egypt has been building new cities since the 1970s to spread out the population and protect farmland. However, this plan hasn't worked well, leading to overcrowding in Cairo and long commutes. The country's urban area has only grown by 3% in 50 years, while European countries are creating smaller, more sustainable communities. To solve this, Egypt should focus on building smaller towns along regional roads to spread out the population and reduce pollution.
