New weed management method boosts rice yield and slashes weed growth.
A study was done to see how different ways of managing weeds affect the growth and yield of dry direct seeded rice. They tried 10 different methods and found that using bispyribac sodium early on, followed by mechanical weeding later, led to the best results. This method reduced weed growth, increased crop growth, and gave higher grain and straw yields. Another effective method was using pendimethalin followed by bispyribac sodium at specific times. Overall, all the weed management methods tested were better than not doing anything to control weeds.
