Late sowing of Indian mustard leads to lower yield and quality.
In a study on Indian mustard in Haryana, researchers tested different sowing dates and varieties. They found that planting later led to lower plant height, yield, and quality. The variety RH 0749 performed the best. The 2012-13 season had higher yields than 2013-14. The study showed strong positive relationships between seed yield and biological yield, seed yield and harvest index, oil yield and seed yield, and oil yield and biological yield.
