Strategic planning challenges in Egyptian cities due to societal incompatibility.
The article discusses how strategic planning is used in Egyptian cities, focusing on the challenges of applying this approach due to societal structures and cultural factors. The researchers conducted a case study on three Egyptian cities and surveyed consultants involved in strategic planning. They found that there are significant problems and issues when implementing strategic planning in Egyptian cities, particularly in the current political, administrative, and cultural environment. The study aims to address these challenges and improve coordination between planning consultants and civil society sectors to overcome the incompatibility between theory and practice in urban planning methodologies for Egyptian cities.
