Revolutionizing maize farming: Twin rows and nitrogen boost yields significantly!
A study was done to see how planting maize in twin rows and using different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer affects its growth and yield. They found that planting maize in twin rows with 30-60 cm spacing and applying 140 kg of nitrogen per hectare resulted in taller plants, more plant biomass, and higher crop yields. Specifically, the combination of 30-60 cm spacing and 140 kg of nitrogen per hectare gave the best results in terms of plant biomass and grain yield, while the combination of 30-45 cm spacing and 140 kg of nitrogen per hectare gave the highest stover yield.
