Pomegranate Farmers Reap Bountiful Harvests with Innovative Fertigation Techniques
The researchers studied how different ways of giving nutrients to pomegranate plants affect their growth and yield. They tested six methods, including putting fertilizer in the soil or giving it through water (fertigation). The best results came from giving 75% of the nutrients through fertigation at a specific schedule. This method led to taller plants, more flowers, bigger fruits, and higher yields compared to just putting all the fertilizer in the soil. The plants that received this treatment produced the most fruit, with the highest weight and size. Overall, giving nutrients through fertigation at the right time and amount resulted in the best growth and yield for pomegranate plants.
