Intercropping little millet boosts grain yield in rainfed conditions.
Intercropping little millet with pigeonpea and lablab in specific row ratios was studied in a field experiment. Results showed that intercropping in a 6:1 row ratio produced higher dry matter, grain weight, and yield for all crops involved. However, the overall yield was highest in sole cropping. The best combination for little millet equivalent yield was intercropping little millet and pigeonpea in a 6:1 row ratio with horse gram sequence.
