New Maize Variety Boosts Yield and Protein Content for Better Harvests!
The researchers studied how the age of seedlings and different maize varieties affect the growth, yield, quality, and economics of rabi maize. They found that the High Quality Protein Maize variety had the highest dry matter accumulation and yield, while the Gujarat Maize 3 variety had the highest protein content in the grains. Among the different ages of seedlings tested, the 21-day-old seedlings performed the best in terms of various parameters like yield, net realization, and benefit cost ratio. The combination of the High Quality Protein Maize variety with 21-day-old seedlings resulted in the highest grain and straw yield, net realization, and benefit cost ratio compared to other combinations.
