Innovative irrigation methods boost wheat yields, conserve scarce water resources
The study looked at how effectively water is used for growing wheat in an area in India. Different ways of watering the crops were tested, like sprinklers and flood irrigation, to see which worked best to save water and increase wheat production. The researchers found that using sprinkler systems helped farmers use less water but still grow good wheat crops. This means farmers can save water while getting more wheat to sell, making their farms more profitable. The study showed that by using smarter irrigation methods, farmers can make more money and help sustainably manage water resources for the future in the Khapa and Magardha command area in India.
