Organic Farming Boosts Green Gram Yields, Enhancing Food Security
In a study on green gram growth, different nutrient management methods were tested. They used a mix of chemical fertilizers, farmyard manure, biofertilizers, and vermicompost. Results showed that the mix of 75% chemical fertilizers, farmyard manure, and biofertilizers boosted plant growth the most, followed by a mix of 50% chemical fertilizers, farmyard manure, and biofertilizers. Using this mix helped increase plant height, leaf and pod formation, branching, root nodules, and overall yield of both pods and seeds. This shows that combining chemical fertilizers with organic sources like farmyard manure and vermicompost can improve the yield of green gram plants.
