Integrated nitrogen management boosts sweet sorghum quality and profits for farmers.
The researchers studied how different nitrogen sources affect the quality and profitability of sweet sorghum crops. They tested various combinations of inorganic and organic nitrogen sources in a field experiment. The results showed that a specific treatment with a mix of inorganic nitrogen, vermicompost, and Azospirillum (a type of bacteria) had the highest protein content, fiber content, and overall profit. This treatment also had a high ratio of benefits to costs.
