Straw mulch boosts summer maize yield and water efficiency in Chhattisgarh plains.
The study looked at how water management and using straw mulch can affect the growth of summer maize in Chhattisgarh. They did a two-year experiment and found that using paddy straw mulch with water in pair rows led to the highest maize yield. This method also had the highest water use efficiency. The researchers concluded that summer maize needs about 41.4 cm of water, which can be met with eight irrigations.
