New Wheat Varieties Show High Yield Potential in Challenging Conditions
The researchers studied 30 wheat genotypes to understand their genetic variability and heritability under different sowing conditions. They found that certain traits like peduncle length, grain yield, and number of tillers showed high variability in late sown conditions. These traits also had high heritability and genetic advance, making them suitable for breeding programs. This suggests that selecting for these traits could lead to improved wheat crops in both normal and late sown environments.
