Okra plants can produce more fruit when different varieties are crossed. In a study, 55 hybrid combinations were tested for fruit yield at three locations. Some hybrids showed better fruit yield than the standard variety. However, not all hybrids had significant improvements. This means that while some combinations can increase fruit yield, not all are commercially useful.
