In a study on French bean growth, different colored plastic mulches and drip irrigation levels were tested. White on black plastic mulch and 80% ET irrigation level resulted in the tallest plants, most branches, and highest yields. The combination of white on black plastic mulch with 80% ET irrigation level produced the best overall growth and yield for French beans.
