Farmers Boost Crop Yields and Nutrition with Organic Fertilizers and Biofertilizers
A study was conducted to see how different types of fertilizers and manure affect the yield and nutrient uptake of sorghum and barley crops. Adding farmyard manure increased grain and stover yields of both crops, as well as nutrient uptake. Using Azotobacter and phosphate solubilizing bacteria also increased yields in the sorghum-barley sequence. Applying 100% NPK fertilizer led to higher grain and stover yields in both crops, as well as improved nutrient uptake. Overall, using these different nutrient management techniques can significantly increase crop yields and nutrient uptake in sorghum and barley.
