New weed management strategy boosts chickpea productivity and profits in U.P.
A study was done to find the best way to control weeds and increase chickpea crop yield in a specific region. They tested different weed management strategies and found that using a combination of Pendimethalin and Imazethapyr, along with manual weeding, gave the best results. This method led to the highest pod and seed production, as well as the highest grain and straw yield. Overall, this approach was the most profitable and productive for growing chickpeas in the sub-tropical climate of western Uttar Pradesh.
