The researchers studied how splitting nitrogen application affects the economics of growing maize in the Kharif season. They tested different nitrogen application timings and found that splitting the nitrogen into three equal parts resulted in the highest grain, stover, and biological yields. This method also led to the highest gross returns, net returns, and benefit-cost ratio compared to other treatments.
