Optimal nutrient levels boost onion growth and yield for higher profits.
The study looked at how different levels of nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, and sulphur affect the growth and yield of onion bulbs. They found that using 100 kg of nitrogen, 50 kg of phosphorous, 50 kg of potassium, and 45 kg of sulphur per hectare resulted in the best growth and highest yield of onions. This treatment led to taller plants, more leaves, thicker stems, larger bulbs, and higher overall yield compared to other treatments. In simple terms, giving onions the right mix of nutrients helps them grow bigger and produce more bulbs for harvest.
