Revolutionizing Wheat Growth: Tillage and Nutrient Management Impact Productivity!
The researchers studied how different ways of preparing the soil and managing nutrients affect the growth and productivity of late-sown wheat. They tested three tillage methods (conventional, minimum, and zero) and six nutrient management practices. Conventional tillage resulted in taller plants, more tillers, and higher yields compared to minimum and zero tillage. The combination of 100% soil test recommendation with phosphate-solubilizing bacteria and farmyard manure produced the best results, with more grains per spike, longer spikes, and higher grain weight. This suggests that a specific combination of tillage and nutrient management practices can significantly improve wheat growth and yield.
